This international, interdisciplinary conference has attracted a large number of contributions, providing a 'snap-shot' of the major debates in archaeological prospection in 1995. The conference developed not only themes related to the many and varied research aspects of both prospection theory and practice, but also provided a forum on professional issues. The contributions had wide application to archaeological work and contributors and delegates were drawn from all over the world.
The conference comprised oral presentations in single, themed sessions and extensive poster displays, as well as exhibitions and equipment and software demonstrations.
